Casey Gorab is an aspiring composer and performer. Her original works have premiered at venues such as New York City's 54 Below and The Triad Theater, Hackensack PAC, and Montclair State University. With individual pieces, group numbers, and an entire musical in the making, her repertoire is constantly expanding. In addition to composing, she is a vocalist who can accompany both herself and others on piano, guitar, and ukulele. She also continues to practice violin and drums. She is currently a member of the Montclair State University Chorale, and the Montclair State University Singers, who have collaborated with organizations such as the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra, and Music for Life International. She is also currently a music director for A Work of Heart Productions, and a voice and piano teacher at Bach to Rock Music School in Wayne NJ.
Her history as an artist is heavily theater-based. She is a proud member of Actors’ Equity Association and first took the stage at the age of 6 in the role of Gretl Von Trapp. She made her professional debut in 2011 with the 1st National Tour of A Christmas Story, The Musical and was a recipient of a National Youth Arts Award in 2017 for her portrayal of Sally Brown in You're A Good Man Charlie Brown. She was nominated for a 2017 Perry Award for that same production.
Other artistic skills include video production and editing, music editing, choreography, and stage managing for school television programs and local theater companies. She has edited music for local dance groups to perform, and she is beginning to learn studio production. Additionally, she recently choreographed and assistant stage managed a pilot production of Disney's Newsies Jr.
Casey is pursuing a career in music composition and performance and hopes to merge her love of composing, singing, theater, and video production into a fulfilling, lifelong adventure.
